What made you choose to do a session with Candace Gurley Photography?
“I decided to do a boudoir shoot for a few reasons. One was that I had recently hit 30... In my 20's, I just imagined 30 as being this point where I officially would feel old, settled in life, with all the adventurers pretty much complete with the exception of a vacation or two along the way. Once I got over that initial shock and feelings of this is it, I found myself at this crossroads. I could settle into the monotony or I could go the complete opposite. And opposite I went..... I left my retail management career to go back to school, I lost TONS of weight, I dropped toxic friendships, got engaged to the love of my life, refocused my parenting strategies, and overall just felt GREAT about myself and where life was heading. I wanted to celebrate and remember this phase of life... (also, what a great present for my new fiance who works away from home) After looking through the work of photographers in the area, I found Candace and fell in love with the images I saw of confident, sexy woman, of all sizes, too! I just had to book with her!”
What were you nervous about going into your session?
“I was nervous that I would get camera shy and not know how to pose "sexy". Basically that I would look like a blob with lace!”
Did your fears ease after the shoot began?
“I immediately felt as ease once I met Candace in person. Prior to my shoot, we went over my outfits, desired looks, and how things would work. Getting the run down, with my clothes on first, was comforting. She spent time creating a comforting atmosphere by talking to me and laughing with me while I was getting my hair and makeup done. Once we began, Candace told me everything I needed to know. Every pose, the way to make my lips look, the girl even cleaned the bottom of my feet for me in between shots... that's dedication!!!!!”
What was your favorite part of the experience?
“THE BIG REVEAL!!!! Best and worse part is having soooo many options. Having to narrow it down to 20 was almost impossible. Bless Candace for riding out that experience with me.”
How do you feel now that you've completed the session?
“Incredible. Nothing was a bigger confidence booster than watching my fiance opening his album. His amazement and reaction was priceless. I go back and look at the app Candace created for me often, just to remind myself how sensual this mom of a teenager can be!”
Would you recommend this experience?
“MOST DEF! I think it should be a thing for every woman hitting a milestone in life. You don't realize there is this woman inside of you until Candace draws it out....”
