What made you choose Candace Gurley Photography?
I originally found Candace on her main photography page. After reading and viewing all of her items on her website I stumbled upon the fact that she does boudoir! I read all of the client testimonies and how they felt after their session and I was like man I really have to do one of these. Plus, all of the work done by Candace is absolutely stunning and she has a way of capturing each person in a way that is so beautiful that I have never seen anything replicated like her boudoir sessions even after looking on Pinterest and other sites. As time had passed I continued to follow her work and felt that now is the time to go through and do a session!
What were you nervous about going into your session?
I might be a little different from others but I was nervous about whether I purchased the right outfits or how my pictures would look because I am not a 100% satisfied with my body.
Did your fears ease after the shoot began?
My fears definitely went away moments after meeting Candace and having my makeup and hair done by Crissy! Candace has a spirit about her which makes her so easy to get along with and really makes you feel like you have been friends forever! She looked at all of my outfit choices discussing what I was looking for as far as poses. She made sure to guide me through the entire process as far as facial expressions, hand placement, body position, and even hair placement. Candace also gives you so many compliments throughout the entire shoot it really is a boost of confidence that changes your overall mood and you feel completely satisfied with your image after leaving!
What was your favorite part of the experience?
There were so many parts about the experience that I would consider my favorite! 1) I loved being pampered and having my hair and makeup done. 2) The feeling that I was the center of attention was great because sometimes as women we are so concerned with everyone else that we don't get that feeling that we are the center of attention which is nice sometimes. 3) I loved the confidence boost I felt after the session like I had found a piece of myself that had been missing. 4) I felt absolutely beautiful inside and outside even when I wasn't wearing anything! (Once I left the photography session I stopped to run an errand and I was actually hit on by a random guy at the store which hasn't happened in a while!). 5) It was fun shopping for lingerie!
How do you feel now that you've completed the session?
The session made me self-reflect on why I haven't felt good about myself or my body! I don't mean this in a bad way at all but once you see the pictures you realize that you are very critical of yourself when in fact you are beautiful! When I initially set out to have the session I wanted to do it for my husband but quickly realized that it was actually a gift to myself! I feel that boudoir is more than just capturing images for your partner to have it is a powerful and empowering thing that can revitalize your outlook on yourself and your life.
Would you recommend this experience?
I would recommend this experience to ANYONE! I see a lot of people comment that they are not where they want to be as far as their weight but Candace has got you covered! Candace will guide and direct you throughout the entire process and will capture you in a way that will absolutely move you to tears! Of all the work I have seen from her she can and will take beautiful pictures of you no matter your size! I have nothing but great things to say about the experience and am very pleased with everything that I received from the session such as self-esteem, confidence, pampering, and quality products to cherish for a lifetime!
